Kent and the Wider World aims to:
- raise awareness of global issues and the links
between people in Kent and Medway, and with those in the wider
world
- enable people to take action for a world that is more socially just and environmentally sustainable
Kent and the Wider World offers a range of services and activities:
Globetrotters Handbook
New Key Stage 2/3 publication – ‘Globetrotters
Club’
Fun activities to engage children in global citizenship
This handbook and CD provide a series of ten after school
sessions exploring a number of countries and a range of issues
such as climate change, rich and poor, and conflict resolution.
Each issue links to one of the eight key concepts of the global
dimension and is situated in a particular country to help
reinforce the concepts of global interconnectedness and interdependence. |

| The material has been piloted in schools by
teachers and children and contains material to support curriculum
work on the global dimension. The material is aimed at KS2/3
but has been successfully adapted for younger and older students.
It is also suitable for youth groups.
