Example workshop
In 2007, we spent two days in Sir Joseph Williamson Mathematical College in Rochester delivering workshops on Climate Change.
Year 6 and 7 pupils learnt about the local and global effects of Climate Change, some of the theories on the causes, and the actions we can take in response. Pupils explored a bag of shopping to find out how far it had travelled and took part in an energising energy quiz.
Workshop information:
As of September 2007 our costs for workshops in schools are £175 for a full day (4-5 sessions) and £90 for a half day (2-3 sessions).
A pack of recommended resources and key information on Global Citizenship can also be purchased for a cost of £25 with workshops booked.
Sessions can be adapted for different age groups and tailored for specific topics or themes relevant to your school or organisation's needs.
A staff member must always be present during workshops and groups must be no more than 30 children or young people.

Kent and the Wider World and Commonwork Education
Kent and the Wider World also offer a day of Global Citizenship workshops at the Commonwork Centre, Bore Place, near Sevenoaks. The day includes three to four activities including a tour of the working dairy farm.
Around 120 Year 9 pupils from Wilmington Grammar School for Girls attended a day of workshops at Bore Place with a focus on Ghana. Workshops included a farm tour, traditional Ghanaian Adinkra printing, pancake making with fairly traded chocolate spread and a session looking at the similarities between Ghana and the UK with activities on the chocolate trade.
Please contact us to discuss a day of workshops at Bore Place, themes you would like to cover and costs, which are dependant on number of children or young people. For more details or to book a workshop, telephone 01622 689498 or email info@kww.org.uk.
